A signup page for your merchants
Every provider has a public sign-up link to share with prospective merchants. A merchant who uses it is created under your provider, is active straight away, and can sign in immediately.
What the merchant sees
The page is branded with your provider name and your logo and asks for the same business contact and billing details the Portal asks for, plus an email address that becomes the merchant's first login. When the form succeeds the merchant account is live and the person who signed up is its first Admin. Their temporary password is shown once on screen, and they are asked to change it when they first sign in.
Where to find the link
Open your provider page in the Portal. The sign-up link is shown there, ready to copy. It contains your provider's own unguessable id, so it identifies you without a login. Put it on your own website, in an email, or in your onboarding flow.
Your logo
Upload your logo on the same provider page. It appears at the top of the sign-up page. Without one the page shows your provider name.
What happens when someone signs up
- There is no approval step. The merchant is active and its first login works at once.
- Your provider contact email is told by email that a merchant signed up.
- The merchant is flagged with a Self-signup badge next to its name in your Portal merchant list.
- A sign-up is refused when the business reference or the login email already exists, before anything is created, so nothing is left half set up.
What the merchant still has to do
Signing up does not open a payment gateway. The merchant, or you on its behalf, connects its own gateway account in the Portal before it can take a payment. Use the go-live checklist with each new merchant.
