The Enterprise program
The Enterprise program lets you take over your merchants' PayMidWare billing at enterprise rates. It is by invitation: when PayMidWare opens it for your account you will see Enterprise in the top menu of your Portal. Apply or ask about it here.
How it works
- Fill in the business evaluation. Legal name, U.S. EIN, entity type, state of formation and registration number, registered address and a principal officer.
- Add your bank account and accept the ACH debit authorization. Your account and routing numbers go from your browser to the payment processor and never reach PayMidWare's servers.
- Submit. PayMidWare checks the registration and EIN, sends a small verification debit to your account (credited back on your first statement) and then approves the application.
- Accept merchants. Choose which merchants you pay for and whether each is Covered or Resold.
Enterprise covers PayMidWare's own fees only: plan, add-ons and usage. It never includes the gateway's card processing fees.
Covered or Resold
For each merchant you accept, pick one of two modes. You can change a merchant's mode later and it applies from that merchant's next billing cycle.
- Covered. You pay your enterprise rate for the merchant's plan, add-ons and overage. The merchant pays PayMidWare nothing. When a covered merchant asks for a paid add-on, you approve it first under Add-on requests, because you will be billed for it.
- Resold. PayMidWare bills the merchant the price you set. You pay your enterprise rate and are paid the difference as a commission, by check, each calendar quarter.
Under Merchants and prices set a default price for each plan and add-on, or a price for one merchant. A price cannot be below your enterprise cost. Where you set nothing, a resold merchant pays the PayMidWare list price. Overage on requests, invoices and schedules passes through at your cost, so it earns no commission. A merchant that pays for a year in advance has to be switched to monthly billing before you can accept it.
Statements, failed debits and commission checks
On the first of each month PayMidWare totals last month's cost for the merchants you accepted, at your enterprise rates, and debits your bank account. You can open every line under Statements and commissions. The first statement includes a credit for the small verification debit.
If a debit fails, PayMidWare tries again each day, up to three attempts, and emails you each time. After the last failed attempt the statement is marked failed. If it is still unpaid after the grace period (seven days unless PayMidWare has set otherwise) you cannot accept new merchants until it is paid. Replace the bank account on the Bank account page if the account is the problem, then ask PayMidWare to retry. Replacing the account means it must be authorized and verified again.
On resold merchants you earn what they pay minus your cost. A few days after each calendar quarter ends PayMidWare drafts one check for the quarter, once a W-9 is on file. A refund or chargeback of a merchant's payment reduces the commission, and a balance that cannot yet be paid carries forward.
